"I guess you could say Lee saved my life.   Over a year ago I was overweight with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high blood sugar and was listless.  One day after work, my son insisted I go with him to the Shades Valley YMCA in Homewood, Alabama to workout.  While there I noticed another “fifty something” being instructed in a workout by Lee.  The rest is history; I learned that Lee had a great reputation which turned out to be an understatement.  He tailored my workouts for my skill level and to address my specific issues (chronic low-back pain).  I didn’t realize how much I had withdrawn from everyday activities for fear of injuring my back and not having adequate energy and strength to do basic tasks.  Today I am much stronger and losing weight.  My health numbers are back in the normal range and without medications.  Most importantly I have my confidence back.  Confidence that I can handle the physical demands of everyday life such as yard work, travel, workouts, hiking, golf, etc. and have energy to spare!"

"There comes a day when you reach your mid-40’s, look in the mirror and realize that you have become your Dad (and not in a good way).  My Dad was an amazing man, but he grew up in a time when fitness was not a priority.  His health suffered as a result.  I wanted to be different. And, like most people, despite my best intentions, I never was able to stick with a long-term exercise program.  My wife also had an interest in training.  She was always very fit, just naturally, but she wanted to do a little “tune-up” to keep looking great.  I teased her that she was the “after” picture, and there was no “before” picture. But with 5 kids and a super busy schedule, we both needed to get more fit to live life to the fullest.  Almost 2 years ago, we wandered into a gym and inquired about personal fitness training.  I had extremely low expectations because my head was cluttered with stereotypes.  Was I going to be paired with a young, inexperienced “meat head”?  Would this person apply a one-size-fits-all program and ultimately get me hurt?  Would my wife feel uncomfortable being trained by a guy?  Would he try to bulk me up and make me unrecognizable?  Would he sell me a bunch of high margin fitness crap that did nothing but make him money?  You get the idea.  Well, none of that happened.  Lee Gravlee is different – a lot different!  First and foremost, he’s a professional with advanced degrees and training in fitness.  He’s an expert -- plain and simple.  The first thing he wants to know when you train with him is, “how are parts”?  That’s his way of asking, how do you feel?  Is anything hurting?  He not only gives you a customized training plan tailored specifically to your age, health and level of fitness,  he customizes that plan on a daily basis, based on how you feel that day.  My wife and I train with Lee twice a week, and I train an additional day.  The couples training is great, and Lee finds a way that we can do similar exercises at the same time, all while having fun.  In one month, we will complete our second full year with Lee.  I feel better.  I look better.  I fit into clothes that I wore in college.  I never get sick.  My overall health and fitness have never been better.  And most importantly, Lee has us coming back because we want to.  The funny thing is, I’m not alone.  Lee has dozens of long term clients that he trains for years.  He even trains my 11-year old, who is an avid travel baseball player. Lee’s professional, “put the client first” attitude leads to an amazing  long-term relationship.  If you’re reading this testimonial, you’re probably thinking about fitness, maybe for the first time.  My advice is simple.  Pick up the phone and call Lee. Meet him.  Hire him.  Do what he tells you to do.  It’s fun.  It’s affordable. And most importantly, it works."

Training one on one with Lee Gravlee is akin to experiencing the care of a man committed to addressing the individual needs of his clients.  No one person is alike, and Lee’s background in conditioning, rehabilitating and preventing injury serve all ages, especially mine — the fifty and over crowd, quite well.  Workout sessions often include elements of physical therapy and massage — techniques that highlight Lee’s knowledge of anatomy and musculature, making Lee very effective at working around and through a client’s injury to insure against the possibility of reoccurrence.
